In our 4th or 5th grade Urdu textbook, I read about Rashid Minhas, and his courage, honesty, and principled stance have stayed with me ever since. His job description (JD) was simple: to fly the aircraft in the direction instructed by his senior. He could have blindly followed the order. But when he realized that the senior's instruction was against the principles, against the books, and against the truth — he chose to disobey and sacrificed his life for the greater good.
As a Full Stack Developer, I found myself in a similar situation. The task I was given seemed to deviate from the defined JD and felt rooted in non-transparent, hidden business interests. Despite senior pressure, I refused to proceed — because for me, loyalty doesn’t mean blind obedience, it means standing by truth, ethics, and transparency.
Rashid Minhas turned the aircraft to protect the nation. I too have turned my career toward the path of integrity and principles — no matter how difficult that path may be.
ہماری چوتھی یا پانچویں جماعت کی اردو کتاب میں میں نے راشد منہاس کے بارے میں پڑھا تھا، اور اُس کی جرأت، سچائی اور اصول پسندی آج تک میرے دل میں زندہ ہے۔ اُس کی جاب ڈسکرپشن (JD) تو محض یہ تھی کہ سینئر جہاں کہے، وہیں جہاز اُڑایا جائے۔ مگر جب اُس نے دیکھا کہ سینئر کی دی گئی سمت اصولوں، کتابوں، اور سچائی کے خلاف ہے، تو اُس نے بلا جھجک اُس حکم کو ماننے سے انکار کر دیا — حالانکہ وہ آسانی سے آنکھیں بند کر کے حکم مان سکتا تھا۔
بطور فل اسٹیک ڈیویلپر، جب میرے سامنے ایسا ہی موقع آیا، جہاں کام JD یا اصولوں کے برخلاف، کسی غیر شفاف اور خفیہ مفاد کے تحت ہو رہا تھا، تو میں نے بھی صاف انکار کیا — چاہے سامنے سینئر ہی کیوں نہ ہو۔ میرے لیے وفاداری کا مطلب صرف حکم ماننا نہیں، بلکہ حق اور اصولوں کا ساتھ دینا ہے۔
راشد منہاس نے جہاز کا رُخ بدلا تھا، میں نے بھی اپنے کیریئر کا رُخ اُسی جانب رکھا جہاں سچائی، دیانت، اور اصول مقدم ہوں۔
